Liquid Design Group Office, New York, NY

Liquid Design Group, a New York computer animation company, wanted a convivial atmosphere that would simultaneously energize and contain the flow of its busy space.
The space was divided with respect to the chaotic, relentless schedule of web designers and computer animators requiring the introduction of separated private spaces for refuge.

The cubes are freestanding in a sea of red. The residual space between the rooms is freedom, constantly redefined by transient objects. The boxes tilt towards the natural light sources on either side of the space. The boxes distort perception of scale; depending on the angle of approach. Each box can loom imposingly or taper subtly into the expanse of the room.
