Lauren Crahan

Lauren is committed to finely crafted projects having design ingenuity and integrity. She is a NY State licensed architect with LEED certification and the principal of Freecell Architecture, LLC. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, RISD and at Parsons The New School for Design. Her passion for spatial logics is matched and balanced by her hands-on approach to material research.

John Hartmann

John has been collaborating with Lauren for over fifteen years. He earned a degree from the Cooper Union and was awarded the Rome Prize and a MacDowell Residency. He has taught studios at Parsons The New School for Design with Allan Wexler in the MFA program, in Interior Design and a drawing course at the Cooper Union with Michael Webb. In 2015 he was invited by Wang Shu to lead a 4-week workshop in Hangzhou at the China Academy of Art.

Sam McBride

Sam joined the Freecell team in 2014. He earned a MArch from Drury University, also spending time studying in Greece and attending Tonji University in Shanghai. Sam was privileged to receive The Henry Adams AIA School Medal and Certificate of Merit, Alpha Rho Chi Leadership Service Merit Award and the Association of Licensed Architects Student Merit Award. He also received 2014 Librarium Award for his thesis project Urban Insectival Automation.

Gia Wolff

Gia is a collaborator at Freecell. Her interests in the reciprocal relationship between the user and the built environment weave experience, concept and style to projects. Her piece, Canopy, installed in the Tate Modern's turbine hall for the show Up Hill Down Hall. Gia was winner of the Wheelwright Prize for her project, Floating City: The Community-Based Architecture of Parade Floats. She studied at the Harvard GSD and Parsons School of Design.
